According to anecdotal reports and Microsoft’s own status page, Xbox Live users are currently having trouble accessing major parts of their services.
The reports detail limited access to “core services” including sign-in, creating or recovering an account, search, making purchases, redeeming codes and downloading items.
The server issues are affecting all platforms – Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox on Windows 10 and Xbox on devices such as smartphones.
Today is the launch day of Mass Effect: Andromeda, which is one of the most anticipated games of 2017. Polygon pointed out in their report that the server issues could be a result of the heavy server load due to its popularity.
“Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems finding previously-purchased content or purchasing new content,” says the status page.
The Verge reports that Microsoft Account users are also experiencing “widespread issues” across various services, including Outlook, Skype, OneDrive and the Windows Store.
We expect the Microsoft is doing all that they can to handle the server issues. We will update if the problem is not corrected soon or anymore issues arise.
