Rookery’s Retro Review: Infiltrate (Atari 2600)

Overall Score: 4 (of 5), pew pew pew!

Story:  I’m in an empty rainbow coloured office building with lots of elevators that only reach one to three floors.  I have a fast shooter though, and my goal is to reach the top or bottom floors to pick up a Doric column because presumably I’m a big fan of Greek architecture.  Two Fry Guys seem very unhappy, apparently from having their fries stolen.

Although my enemies are fast and clever, I have the ability to duck, a great advantage since there’s nothing to hide behind on each floor.

Highlights:  Shooting a laser, ducking, easy controls, elevators, objective other than killing enemies.

Lowlights:  Repetition, lack of story, inevitable doom

Similar Style Games: Berzerk

Final Thought:  Classic pop-in and play shooter
