An open beta for team-based tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siegewill be held across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 November 25-29, Ubisoft has announced. Pre-loading starts Monday, November 23.
This will give you plenty of time to try the game out before it releases on December 1.
Open beta participants will be able to try out 14 of the 20 available operators including three of the Russian Spetsnaz.
The Secure Area and Bomb PvP modes will be open as well as the Disarm Bomb PvE Terrorist Hunt mode. Available maps are Hereford, House and Kanal – all three playable in both PvE and PvP, in either the day or night setting.
The announcement comes just over a month after Siege’s first closed beta ended, to the sound of many a criticism on the multiplayer-only title’s poor optimisation, waiting times and a general lack of compelling detail in its many environments.
A new trailer was also released today, and it’s a live TV spot featuring British actor Idris Elba. It’s below.
Siege was originally set to launch in October but was delayed to December. Ubisoft has said Siege has the potential to become the company’s best-selling FPS, even surpassing Far Cry 4. At the time, Ubisoft chief executive Yves Guillemot said the game’s replayability “will be key to its success.”
