Microsoft has announced its October lineup for its Games with Gold program. Players with an Xbox Live Gold subscription will be able to download Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings and The Escapists for Xbox One, and MX vs ATV Reflex and I am Alive for Xbox 360. Both Xbox 360 titles will be playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility. As always all four titles are free.
Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings, from the team at Metalhead software, is the re-release of the 2014 PS4 hit. Don’t be fooled by the cartoony look, Super Mega Baseball is a full-on simulation of the sport, with fully tracked stats. Players can compete against their friends with local play that supports up to four players. Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings will be available for free all October long.
The Escapists, developed by Team17, puts players in one of eight fully operational prisons with a dream of escape. The top-down, prison escape simulator gives players a feel for what prison life is actually like. Through gathering items, doing favors for other inmates, and staying on the good side of the guards, players can take multiple different paths in planning their escape. The Escapists will be available for free from Oct. 16 to Nov. 15.
MX vs ATV Reflex, by Rainbow Studios, came to Xbox 360 in 2009. Bringing full rider reflex controls to the series, players can now move vehicle and rider independently, making turns feel tighter. Reflex also brought real time terrain deformation to the series. MX vs ATV Reflex will be available for free from Oct. 1-15.
In I am Alive, from Ubisoft Shanghai, players take control of a lone survivor in a post-apocalyptic world. In search of their family in a desolate city, players must use intimidation to survive the threat of other survivors. I am Alive will be available for free from Oct. 16-31.
Some of September’s Games with Gold titles are still currently available. Players can still download Earthlock: Festival of Magic and Mirror’s Edge through Sep. 30, and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China through Oct. 15.
