A trailer was uploaded for Zelda: Breath Of The Wild ahead of the games release next month. Posted on the official Japanese website, the new trailer showcases the majestic environment and several action scenes.
Breath of the Wild is set to release on March 3rd as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch. It will also be coming to the Wii U the same day, and could potentially be the last first-party game coming out on the system.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U video game consoles. It is the 19th main installment in the The Legend of Zelda series and the first original game in the series developed with an HD resolution. The story is set in Hyrule and follows amnesiac protagonist Link, who awakens from a 100-year slumber to a mysterious voice that guides him to defeat Calamity Ganon.
The title’s gameplay and mechanics constitute a departure from the series’ conventions, featuring an advanced physics engine, an open-world environment, voice acting, and the ability to play through the game’s dungeons in any order. Announced in 2013, the game was initially planned for release as a Wii U exclusive in 2015. After being delayed multiple times, it is set for release worldwide on 3 March 2017. It will be a launch title for the Switch, as well as the final Nintendo-produced game for the Wii U.
In the past, the many races of Hyrule lived together in harmony, the Sheikah’s blue aura providing life to the land. That all ended when a beast that came to be known as Calamity Ganon appeared. The Hero and the Princess attempted to stop the evil but ultimately failed. As a last resort, the Sheikah awakened four divine beasts and a mechanical army that they had created in secret. They managed to seal Calamity Ganon inside Hyrule Castle but, out of fear, the King of Hyrule and his people banished the Sheikah from the land.
In the present, an amnesiac Link awakens from a deep sleep, as a mysterious female voice guides him to the now ruined kingdom of Hyrule. He meets an old man and learns that Calamity Ganon has been sealed in Hyrule Castle for one hundred years. Although trapped, Calamity Ganon has continued to grow in power, and Link must defeat it before it breaks free and destroys the world.
