Bungie Studios took to Twitter on Monday to reveal their latest project: Destiny 2. It is not a major surprise that Bungie would be making a sequel to Destiny, as the developer has confirmed the project’s existence several times.
An Italian retailer even leaked a poster for the game that showed a September 8, 2017 release date and a beta that would come to PlayStation 4 first.
However, this is the first official confirmation that we have of the game. All Bungie would say about its release date is that it would be coming later this fall.
The original Destiny was released on September 9, 2014 and Bungie has supported the game with numerous expansions and content updates. Among these expansions were The Dark Below in December 2014, House of Wolves in May 2015, The Taken King in September 2015, and Rise of Iron in September 2016.
Destiny’s final expansion, Age of Trimpuh, was just released today, March 28, 2017.
