Prey Out May 5
After sitting in development hell for 10 years, the follow-up to 2006’s Prey now has a release date. Now a reimagining of the original, Prey (2017), from Arkane Studios, releases on May 5.
The release date was revealed in the latest gameplay trailer. This trailer highlights the alien threat of the Typhon and their many shapes and powers. Morgan Yu, the protagonist and human/Typhon hybrid experiment, is also on full display with his arsenal of weapons and powers highlighted.
Players start out aboard the Talon I, a space station used to house the Typhon and human experiments. As Morgan, players fight to survive the Typhon assault.
In an interview with Gameinformer, Lead Designer, Ricardo Bare compared Prey to Metroidvania titles. Players have access to most of the space station early on, but access to later areas is granted with the additional power-ups earned throughout the game. Like other titles from Arkane Studio’s, players have the freedom to accomplish tasks however they see fit.
Prey comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 5.
