First of June, first of a face !
My name is Kris, but call me Bees.
Hey everyone! I’ll be a new writer here.
My nickname comes from the ever famous ‘Cards Against Humanity’ party game; because who doesn’t like to play the “Bees … ?” card! I am twenty-six and I hail from the west-coast in bright and crazy San Francisco Bay Area. Currently, I practice as a Veterinary Nurse by day and have been in the career for just going on four years, however, I have been in the pet industry since a young age. I personally work with reptiles at Moshpit Exotic Reptiles, a business I started myself in October of 2013.
Currently, I have six reptiles–I use to have over sixty! Residing in the house is Lüt and Turtleini, two female Three-Toed Box Turtles, Bathtub aka Tubby the Northern Blue Tongue Skink, Ikkis (from “Ahhh! Real Monsters” on Nickelodeon a number of years ago) a female Schneider’s Skink, Freddy (named after ‘Freddy Fazbear’ from the hit horror games, ‘”Five Nights At Freddy’s” … but my Freddy is a female) blazing blizzard Leopard Gecko, and Becky (from the Disney’s Pixar film, “Finding Dory,” she’s the wacky-looking bird!) who is a female Kenyan Sand Boa.
I truthfully didn’t mean to have mostly female reptiles … it just happened that way. 🙂
In my Horde at home, I also have a cat and dog; three-year-old Caroline. She is a ‘tabbico’ (tabby-calico) domestic short-hair cat, who’s namesake comes from much beloved game, “Portal 2.” (Should I put that as a spoiler for people who are so unfortunate so to never have played the aforementioned adventure puzzler? GO PLAY IT!) Nurgle is my two and a half year-old Queensland Blue Heeler / Australian Kelpie cross. Some of you will recognize this name as being from Warhammer 40k ! Plague for the Plague Lord. He is also my Service Dog! Both he and Caroline were rescued from Texas when I resided there between 2015 and 2017.
Comment below if you have pets at home; lemme see them! I will never say no to pet pics.
I am partially deaf so I love to listen to music loud, rocking out to everything from EDM to Metal and Classical, K-pop and NOT COUNTRY. I’m a large advocate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HoH) awareness. Sometimes, my reviews may reflect on the accessibility features of games, just for fair warning. What are some of your favourite music types? I’m really interested to get to know everyone out here, visiting GameTraders USA.
Onto the good stuff!
I play all sorts of games. Primarily, my game styles and preferred time-killers are play indie games, platformers, puzzle-based, side scrollers, sims, and pixel games. I love a good RPG here and there. Action, Horror; just depends on the day and the game ! Oh. I also spend way too much of my free time on League of Legends, the hugely popular free-to-play game from Riot! Games. In terms of laning, I tend to stick to bot lane, support, or mid lane. My favourite champions are Nami, Zoe, and Jinx. (Does that tell you anything about me?) Currently, I am alpha testing some games, as well as on the forefront of some other really sweet indie games ! (Look for those reviews/ news /updates soon!)
When I’m not on my PC (it’s actually a Mac … ) or Xbox One, I board game! And I mean a lot! Some of my favourites include Happy Pigs, Evolution, the Exit Series, Pandemic, and Carcasonne (plus expansions.) As noted by my dog’s name, I also have interests in the Warhammer community. My most current army build is for Age of Sigmar, the Slyvaneth. They’re tree people ! It’s awesome. I’m also trying to put the finishing touches on a Necron army.
This is just a little about me. I look forward to writing some awesome content and hear your feedback!
