2017-Game On? Or Game Off? The Top 5 Upcoming Video Games

As 2017 is right around the corner, this article will list the top 5 upcoming games announced for next year. Head on over to GameTradersUSA for many more topics.

1- Mass Effect: Andromeda

In Mass Effect Andromeda players are in control of a brand new character and are tasked with saving the galaxy whilst shopping for outfits in their spare time. Combat appears smoother and action packed with Bioware focusing on exploration allowing the player to traverse huge distances to encounter new worlds.

2- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild

Not surprisingly the new Zelda title is set in a beautifully rich world. Nintendo seems to have taken a huge inspiration from other open-world titles such as The Witcher and Skyrim. Link is able to travel to any location without barriers, and can harvest items from both the environment and enemies. Nintendo is targeting a release on both the Wii U and Nintendo’s next home console the Nintendo Switch.

3- Resident Evil 7

Capcom have finally decided to revamp the Resident Evil series and have opted to allow the player to play in first person rather than third this time around. Resident Evil 5 and 6 have been heavily criticised for focusing too heavily on action. Capcom looks to correct this by making Resident Evil 7 the most immersive yet, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it looks like it will be scary for the right reasons. Oh and it will be playable in VR too!

4- Yooka-Laylee

Playtonic Games/Team 17

Playtonic Games have finally finished developing Yooka-Laylee. This is the spiritual successor to the much adored Banjo-Kazooie. Yooka-Laylee is a 3D Platformer that looks set to revive the genre. Players will be tasked with controlling a chameleon and his bat buddy to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. As an added bonus, the game will feature both co-operative and competitive local multiplayer modes and will release on Xbox One, PS4 and Steam.

5- Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy

Vicarious Visions/Activision

Loyal fans have been rewarded with three classic Crash Bandicoot games that make up the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy. This remake will see Crash traverse various levels in order to stop the evil Dr. Cortex. New features include unified checkpoints and auto and manual save systems. Whilst the visuals have been updated in this collection, the simplistic controls and dated gameplay are relatively untouched which is exactly what veteran players want.
