The Patty Jenkins Directed film “Wonder Woman” has now Grossed Over $652 Million Globally

Whats that up in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No!!! Its Director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot soaring past the competition.

Entertainment Weekly reported that only in its fourth week in theaters, Wonder Woman has already grossed an estimated $318.4 million in the US, and around $652.9 million globally. That makes the movie the highest-grossing film ever directed by a female.

You might know director Patty Jenkins from the Oscar-winning film “Monster”. You might know the Star of Wonder Woman Gal Gadot from my dreams.

Wonder Women surpassed “Mamma Mia!”, which brought in $609.8 million in 2008.

Wonder Woman Breaks Record - #GTUSA 1We should note that while Wonder Woman has already made $318.4 million in the US, its not out of theaters yet. Its still in competition with Man of Steel at $291 million, Iron Man at $318.4 million, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice at $330 million, and Suicide Squad at $325 million in terms of US box office income.

If your one of the few who haven’t witnessed the magnificence of Wonder Woman for yourself, what are you waiting for?

Personally I don’t think they could have found a better actress then Gal Gadot for the role. From her appearance in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice it was clear they had chose a beautiful actress for the role, but I was unsure how well she would pull it off. It turns out Gal isn’t just eye candy, but shes an amazing actress as well.

Going in I was also unsure of how good the movie was going to be. Director Patty Jenkins did a phenomenal job obviously. Fabulous acting, amazing scenes, and great story. If your a fan of the DC Universe, Wonder Woman is a must see. I just can’t say enough good things about it.

The sequel is already in production, and this time will be set in the United States. Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot set the bar pretty high, and have some big shoes to fill. I can’t wait to see where the DC Cinematic Universe goes next!
