Whenever something new is in the works in the world of gaming, gamers everywhere start talking about the ‘next big thing’. Ever since the Nintendo NX was announced (Nintendo’s successor to the Wii U), everybody started talking about it, from Nintendo gamers to non-Nintendo gamers.
Rumors have been swirling about for quite sometime, and are seeming to get even bigger with each passing day, especially since it’s ‘rumored’ that the Nintendo NX will be making its debut this holiday season. A rumor came up, stating that the next Zelda game for the Wii U may be a dual release, releasing on both the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo’s latest gaming platform, the NX. This wouldn’t be too far-fetched, as this is what Nintendo did with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which released on the Nintendo GameCube, as well as being a launch title for the Nintendo Wii.
Recently, more rumors have come to light. Some from Twitter user @IndieGamerChick, who, from the looks of her Twitter, specializes in all things indie gaming. She talks about how the controller reports were ‘bogus’ but that “the horsepower rumors are true’. She also states in a tweet, saying “All I know is that “more powerful than PS4/Xbone” is *technically* accurate, that it’s easy to develop for and optimized for gaming.”, and later in another tweet says, “The more significant thing I’m told is that NX is optimized for gaming and super easy to develop for, “best development tools ever.” She also says that she was ‘clued in about it being more powerful’ and that there will be “more than one way to control NX.”
Now the question we ask ourselves is can these tweets be trusted? It’s rather hard to say, but I for one always like hearing speculative rumors when it comes to new gaming console (especially from Nintendo, as they’ve been my main for years). Honestly, I really hope it is more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One, that should be a given, seeing as how these two consoles came out back in 2013. At three years later, I would hope that Nintendo could give us something more powerful! At the moment, I’m just glad those NX controller rumors were a lie… because who wants to game on a controller that looks like the kid from “Hey, Arnold”‘s head…
So what do you think we can expect from the NX? Furthermore, what do you WANT from Nintendo’s next dedicated gaming system? Let us know in the comments below!
